I wrote this drabble for the
sunday100, but it's too long by about 20+ words, but I don't have the heart to shave it and I like it, so since this is my journal and I can, I'm posting it here.
The challenge this week is: 3 people are sitting on the steps
The House
"You ever figure this, pet?"
"No. No, I can't say I ever did."
"And you?" Spike looked at the boy next to him.
"No. A world of no."
Spike kicked a leg down to dig in his pocket. He could swear that he put it in there.
Warren looked at him curiously, "What are you looking for?"
"My lighter. Thought I had it in here."
Tara pointed, "She's got it."
Spike looked. "Damn. She was always nicking it after we..."
Tara looked at him, "She meant it you know."
Warren sighed, "Maybe if someone had said it to me, at least once..."
Spike raised his brows, "What? We wouldn't be sitting here?"
"Well, how was I to know that there's no heaven or hell? There's just this," he looked behind him, "house."
